Here’s some of what I bring
I’m Alison Avigayil—a wellness coach with 20+ years of experience supporting people working in high-pressure worlds of social change and creative work. I’ve lived across multiple continents, speak several languages, and carry a multi-cultural identity that informs my life and work.
My lineage is multi-faith and I was raised in a home that included Jews, Christians, and Buddhists. I’m in a interfaith relationship and highly engaged in a pluralistic community.
I’m highly intuitive, sensitive, and neurodivergent—an orientation that can be a profound strength, and one that has benefited from real care and skillful support, which I work to provide to others.
For 20 years, I worked as a writer, human rights advocate, and social entrepreneur alongside individuals and organizations of many kinds—NGOs, UN agencies, media, tech companies, and startups, including the UN, Oxfam, and Meta.
I know firsthand how stress, grief, and trauma can shape our lives—and how easy it is to override the body’s signals until we’re depleted. After burning out more than once, I began taking wellbeing seriously—first as a personal change process, then as study, and now as a practice I share with others.
Today I’m a certified Health & Wellness Coach through Headspace’s Training Institute, which provides a comprehensive year long program designed and overseen by a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and nationally certified coaches. The program is approved by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC).
I’m also provide group facilitation as the co-founder of the Social Change Sanctuary, a interfaith community that provides grief and gratitude practices to the public.
